  • Is the HA of Oakland a racially mixed group?

are there any blacks in the Hells Angles?

That video looked like everyone was a fellow Caucasian.
Considering that we are a minority around here, that gives me some pause.

    Where was that video shot?
Isn't their clubhouse on east Foothill somewhere?

    d
    • The East Bay Dragons were there,
      The Vagabonds were there,
      the OGs
Theres no Blacks in the Angels..
The Angels were around before East O was Black.
There was a lot of Portoguese, Italians etc.
It started changing in the 60s
My neighborhood was mainly 1st generation Europeans
      Irish German Ports Italians etc.
You can see the clubhouse in the Background in the Video.

      • So it was a lot like e 14th in San Leandro?

I have only seen the clubhouse a couple of times driving by.

So who are the groups of black men with the LOUD bikes, not to mention the improbable sound systems on board?

I do not know much about MC, but they are an interesting sub culture that we share the town with.
are / were you a member?

San Leandro is like stepping back in time.
(or at least it was a few years back)
          As far as the black Bike clubs go;
The Old School in Oakland are,
          The East Bay Dragons
          The Zodiacs
          The HeadHunters
The Soul Brothers (who are now mixed)
Theres at least 5 or 6 new ones in the last 10 years that I don't know.
The new clubs have the Loud Show bikes.
          I never wore a patch, I couldn't dedicate myself.
          I had a Harley when I was a teenager.
          I shared a shop for a number of years with a 1%er
With 3 generations in Oakland it gets to be a small town.
Most agree East Oakland is a complete different world than Downtown or West O
Thats why I hafta laugh when I see the Hipsters acting all ghetto downtown.
My Mother still takes the bus everywhere and notices as well.
She still lives in The Dimond and takes care of my Grannies house on Golf Links.
So shes always in da Hood.
One Day she called me to tell me how she took the bus up telegraph,
and couldn't believe her eyes how nice it was getting.
